Decor, Design & DIY

It’s hard to believe we are already into the third month of 2017. It feels like New Years was just yesterday! Although I'm not a big fan of resolutions (mainly because I can never keep them), I always aim for personal growth and a fresh, new perspective on life in general. Coincidentally, Pantone's color of the year for 2017 is a hue that signifies refreshment, rejuvenation and rebirth. Is that a serendipitous moment or what?! Appropriately called Greenery, I can’t wait to see how this color will refresh all facets of the design world this year. In the meantime, to honor new beginnings, both in my life and design, (and St. Patrick’s Day of course) here are some of my favorite green picks in fashion and home decor!

Indian fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is best known for using unique techniques like hand dyeing, embroidery and block printing to create modern silhouettes. I’m so excited that Pottery Barn has partnered with him to create a collection of global, vintage-inspired home décor. It makes me so happy to see fellow-Indians breaking into creative industries here in the U.S.

This damask printed pillow will bring a decadent burst of character to your space without a huge color commitment.

I love incorporating natural objects into home styling. Specifically the undulating pattern of cut geodes and agate. Add these green quartz coasters edged in 24K gold to coffee tables, bookshelves or bedroom nighstands to create a layer of natural beauty. It will instantly add a shimmering texture to the space, and of course prevent those annoying water rings! Click here to shop!

Tassels and fringe are one of the hottest accessory embellishments of the season. These Vanessa Mooney earrings are a small add-on, but make a big statement. I love the way they bring movement to a look, while also adding a bright, bold color to your outfit.

I'm all about organization and a clutter-free home. So these woven patterned baskets from West Elm instantly caught my eye. Perfect to store practically anything; whether it is laundry, toys for the kids or papers from your desk, it's the ideal decorative item to keep your belongings in one place. Plus, they're handwoven by skilled female artisans in the Philippines. And I love anything handmade.

This is a must-have for wine lovers. These soy-candles are sold at Nordstrom, and remind you of your favorite vintage with their subtle wine-inspired appearance and aroma. They're even made of re-purposed wine bottles! I just love the way they look and smell.

Set your bag apart from the rest with these colorful, hand-woven luggage tags. And they make the perfect gift for the adventure-seeker in your life. Head over to The Little Market to shop fair trade handmade goods from around the world. One of my absolute favorite online shops!

Anthropologie is one store that never disappoints. Ever. I found these adorable tumblers that will make the perfect addition to your kitchen collection. Mix and match with other colors, or pair with colorful plates, flatware and napkins to create the perfect springtime tablescape!

Showcase your precious photos in this contemporary emerald green frame. Exquisitely covered in faux shagreen, introduce a textural mood in your space with it's presence. While it's a bit on the pricey side (shop here), it will definitely create a striking effect on your decor.

Whether you’re ready for a complete overhaul in your career and personal life, or just simply want to do a few things here and there to refresh your daily routine, I hope this charming color provides the inspiration you need to stay on track!

Every year, I make it a point to celebrate Valentine's Day with my girlfriends. Even though some of us are married, in relationships or still single, it's important for us to get together to celebrate this sweet holiday. Originally planned as an outdoor picnic, the rain and wind turned our celebration into an intimate, candlelit brunch next to the fireplace! The impromptu setup ended up being perfect and so fun!

We set the scene, and the tablescape, with shades of mauve, dusty rose and deep plum, and ditched the traditional table and chairs look to create a flirty and feminine vibe. The beautiful florals were undoubtedly the main focus, allowing the rest of the decor to be on the simpler side. Chic pink plates paired with dark purple and maroon linen napkins added the perfect touch of color, and rose-gold flatware and gold rimmed champagne flutes added a bit of glam. But nothing was sweeter than the heart shaped sugar cookies placed on each plate - my absolute favorite!  And since weather issues forced our celebration indoors, we warmed up the space with a beautiful fireplace and glowing candles.

A simple bar cart, adorned with a DIY heart garland, was the perfect accent to our tablescape and an ideal place to display our desserts and champagne.

No celebration is complete without gifts, obviously. Beautifully wrapped gifts that is. So we proudly displayed them on an antique silver tray atop a large, fluffy pouf. Pure perfection.

While Valentine's Day certainly has a romantic vibe, the holiday is still about all forms of love. These girls truly fill my heart and life with endless amounts of love and happiness. Today is just an excuse to tell them, because our love is celebrated every single day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope your day is filled with love and laughter!

For the perfect holiday home scene, I always picture a big, beautiful Christmas tree next to the fireplace. It brings forth such a warm and cozy feeling. For many, unfortunately, a Christmas tree and fireplace just can’t go together. While some don’t have the right floor plan to achieve this layout, many don’t have a fireplace at all. This year, I found the perfect hack to bring a natural, glowly atmosphere around your tree – decorative candle lanterns.

Simply place various sized lanterns next to your tree, fill with multiple candles and light them up to create a beautiful candle garden. The effect is so beautiful and instantly brings the Christmas spirit into your home. Plus, if you haven't done your Christmas shopping yet, they’re the perfect placeholders for presents under the tree!
