I'm back at it with another #AKDesignforyou! This time I decided on a simple, neutral bedroom with pops of color and pattern. The bed and nightstands are very versatile and are the perfect items to build the design around. To balance out the simplicity of these pieces, I chose a fun, patterned rug and accent pillows with varied textures to bring in some color. The tassel details on the pillow and drapes are small details, but if you know me, you know these little details make the whole design come together!  The gold in the lighting fixture and woven texture on the baskets bring in some warmth to the space, and a round mirror switches up the rectangle shapes used throughout the room. Finish off with a tall green plant, and BOOM you have all the basics to create a beautiful bedroom all on your own! All items are linked below!

This next #AKDesignforyou had to be a nursery. 2018 is definitely the year of extreme baby fever for my family and friends. With almost six bundle of joys waiting to make their entrance into the world this year, I am in full inspiration mode with nurseries and kids rooms! I centered the the color palette around this adorable rug, and found the sweetest accessories from my favorite fair trade shop The Little Market. The crib is an amazing find as it is the perfect neutral color, good for a boy or girl. The best part is it converts into a toddler and full size bed so you can really get the best use out of it as your child grows. A rocking chair, pretty pillows, mirror and lighting all add to the overall appeal of this room. All items are linked below...you know the drill!! Happy Shopping!

Time for another #AKdesignforyou! Many of you have asked about how to dress up and decorate their kitchens. It's always a space that ends up being somewhat neglected since there aren't many large furniture items to incorporate. But with the right accessories, your kitchen can be both beautiful and functional. I always like to start with a subtly patterned runner to ground the space, add in barstools for extra seating and hang pendant lights above the counter top for some mood lighting. Displaying fruit bowls and trays give some extra character to the space, while matching canisters keep your kitchen organized. Fun cookbooks add that personal touch, and of course no space is complete without some greenery. Shop all these items below from some of my favorite vendors!
